Giving, Not Getting
This Sunday, we’ll begin a new sermon series on worship. It probably won’t look much like what we’d typically think of when the topic comes up. Tuesday, our men’s Bible study talked about the fact that many times we think God exists for us, when in fact He exists for His own glory. When we grasp this paradox, we can then see that we exist for His glory and not our own. This leads us to our new sermon series - Giving, Not Getting. We will look at some biblical insights on being a worshiper and a servant, and see how those two go together. We will open up the context of worship beyond our Sunday morning gatherings, but also address that time together as well. We are excited about what the Lord will reveal to us about ‘worshiping‘ the One True God ‘as we go‘ through life.
This Sunday, we will also be gathering for a time of church family prayer. The men on Monday, felt lead to move this time together from our home to Doubles’ to allow as many people to be a part of this time together as possible. We will have childcare available at our home beginning at 5:15pm. They will be fed dinner as well. For us at Doubles, dinner will be served following our time in prayer. Prior to prayer time, I will be sharing some things about future facilities and other prayer requests that have been placed on our hearts to pray for. For a full list of prayer items, see page 3 of the newsletter.
And finally, don’t forget to invite family and friends to our Free Movie Night this Friday at 8pm. There will be popcorn, snocones and lots of fun as we enjoy Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium and build relationships in the community!
Have a great week and we’ll see you there!
Love ya'll -
